It feels like research is just coming around to a lot of people's lived experiences. Maybe that speaks to an improvement in research methods where we're able to paint a more complex picture of the world with data, or maybe that speaks to a return to valuing qualitative research and recognizing the limitations of quantitative (especially the kind that always has to have an independent variable and dependent variable and pretends to control for every other possible factor). Hopefully we'll see more research like this and more nuanced policies both in education and across other sectors moving forward.
