Rafael Edward Cruz, noted Canadian-born legislator, has some educational ideas to pitch, and the Washington Post, increasingly shorthanded in the opinion department, gave him the space to do it.
I hope that this time parents whose children attend public schools will finally stand against the destruction of their schools. The fact that over 90% of schoolchildren attend public schools should give them power, yet our politicians once again convince taxpayers to vote against their own best interests.
A lot of people don’t have a choice. They’re forced to conform and send their children to public schools. I think public schools should have to compete with private schools more, and vouchers, in theory, would allow people from poorer districts to attend schools they otherwise wouldn’t be able to, but the federal govt should have little to no involvement. Leave to states. There would be no need to “foster” diversity, either. The richest areas always have the best school districts. Empower the parents to decide wherever they want to send their kids.
Maybe if more people were invested in the stock market there would be stronger pushback to Trump blowing up trade.

Never trust a white man who impersonates a black man 😆
