This is why I love the experiential/mentorship related learning of extracurricular programs. And also why I respect teachers so much for having to do so much in such a short class period. I've found the best learning interactions with youth come from creating a situation where they really think about something and can follow their curiosity with a knowledgeable guide, whether that's a museum guide, or speaking to a guest in a classroom, the relationship aspect is so important. Otherwise there is no one to challenge them to think differently and be critical thinkers!

I think Sean Mann hit the point with "follow their curiosity." Where in pre-packaged computerized programs is the student encouraged to be curious? What effect does this have on the developing mind? catastrophic
