Peter - I was going to send you over to MA's iteration of Relay, The Charles Sposato Graduate School of Education (sic), but it turns out they, not with a bang but a whimper, closed last June. Here's their mission statement:

"The mission of The Charles Sposato Graduate School of Education is to prepare unusually effective novice teachers for schools serving low-income populations, and to develop, validate and disseminate innovative approaches to teacher preparation."

Their training ground was the MATCH charter school, where at least some graduate students lived above their classrooms and were expected to tutor after school hours. MA's charter school affair of heart has cooled a bit since former Governor Charlie Baker, recipient of Walton largess, has left office. (He's gone on to be President of the NCAA, where his job seems to be to assure student athletes don't get paid for their work on the field or court.) Or maybe they just ran out their ball of string. Students, however, are still on the hook for tuition.

"Question: What happens to future tuition payments?

Answer: Sposato Graduate School of Education will continue to collect tuition payments due

pursuant to the schedule in the Tuition Agreement (see attached agreement).

Question: Why should we have to pay the remaining tuition?

Answer: Sposato was designed to be an affordable alternative to gaining a Master’s Degree in

Effective Teaching. Instead of collecting a fee up front, payments are designed to cover the

costs of the program completed over time (again see attached agreement). The MATCH

Foundation has ‘front loaded’ payments and has subsidized the program over the years."
