“ parents and educators frequently tell him they are unhappy with the services provided” is illustrative of the broader problem we face in our representative democracy. Our system (at least the one we thought we had) requires us to think coherently about our problems. Clearly identify the problem, consider its root causes and develop a reasonable plan to address those causes. Then communicate that thinking to our representatives. Instead, we seem to lapse into “I’m unhappy - do something” which is a voice anyone who’s been around toddlers is very familiar with.

As a retired engineer, I've seen plenty of these types; like the idiots that shipped all our manufacturing to China in the 1980's....
