I had my right meniscus trimmed in 2003. As it was the right leg which only needed to work the gas and brake, I was able to use my standard shift car with little trouble. I did PT for the 2 weeks that my insurance thought was enough and my therapist was kind enough to show me what I could continue to do on my own. I am now retired and able to walk a mile with my dog twice a day. I'm glad to learn that the procedure is still performed because lately all I hear about is people getting their joint replaced.
