Like with all the GOP instrumental fear mongering, whether it’s leftists, pornographers, immigrants, people of color, gays, on and on, once it’s let loose, it takes on an uncontrollable, hateful, irrational life of its own. The genies are out of the bottles.
Sadly, most educational administrators are chickens, as are their school board members. In contrast, where my grandkids are in middle school, when this issue was raised, the district quickly appointed a diverse committee to review the holdings in their libraries, categorized the books, moved some to "behind the counter" status and reported publicly on the process in a timely manner. The issue put to rest by careful, competent response vs typical capitulation to a minority of loud complainers.

Seeing the description of what constitutes "sexual conduct" makes me wonder what the people who wrote it do for jollies.
