The main thrust of the article was about the desperate need to redesign or transform the system that isn't working for so many kids. Without some provocative alternatives, even "unproven" ones, the piece seems an iimplicit acceptance if not defense of the status quo. Sure, educators need defenders but I'm not sure "the system" does. C'mon, I expect more from you based on a lot of your prior writings.
