"I don’t wish a life-derailing lawsuit on anyone, but I do wish that lawsuits like this one would scare some administrators into getting out of their cushy office chair and doing their damned job."

I had dinner last night with a friend who's still on the job, and this has been a constant source of frustration and aggravation for him. I continue to believe that principals and vices are driven primarily by two things: avoiding friction with their bosses and interaction with parents.

That’s not fair. Administrators come into your class for five minutes and then give you a report a week later explaining why your teaching isn’t up to snuff because you didn’t have both the lesson objective and the standards alignment code written on the board. Where would we be without their… support.
